Thousands of Ghanaians joined some celebrities as part of a protest pressurize on government to solve the ongoing power crisis.

Actress Yvonne Nelson, together with her colleague celebrities including Sarkodie and Lydia Forson led the campaign despite numerous attacks from government communicators and sympathizers.
The diversity in the various headlines reflect the backgrounds of the people who participated in the vigil.
The vigil was attended by people from all sectors of the economy including members of academia including Head of the University of Ghana, School of Communication Studies, Prof. Audrey Gadzekpo, Assistant Prof. at Ashesi University- Department for Arts and Sciences Dr. Llyod Amoah, Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) Prof. Kwame Karikari , Executive Director Africa Center for Energy Policy (ACEP) Mohammed Amin Adam, were some of the notable people among the participants.
Also ordinary Ghanaians who were being affected in one way or the other poured into the streets to make their voices heard.

The vigil started from the University of Ghana, Legon Overpass at 4pm and ended on the green lawns of the Tetteh Quarshie Roundabout in Accra, at 7pm.
