The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is calling for calm among persons that have been disqualified or feel victimized in the party’s just ended internal vetting exercise.

[contextly_sidebar id=”StAe9AEbDWhxkB0lL48cvA6AYiuSNCWv”]A statement signed by Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, General Secretary of the NPP called for restraint explaining that the report from the vetting committees’ are just “recommendations subject to the approval of the National Executive Committee.”

“All Parliamentary aspirants, Constituency officers, Regional Officers and members of the various Vetting Committees should refrain from making public Commentary on the recommendations. The National Executive Committee’s decisions will be communicated to all aspirants and the general public in due course,” the statement added.

Some of the disqualified aspirants have complained that they have been unfairly dropped from the race.

Others including an aspirant in the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, Isaac Owuraku Amofa insist their disqualifications were orchestrated.

In the Tema West Constituency, an aspirant, Carlos Ahenkorah was reportedly disqualified for not nurturing the party at the constituency level.

He has thus described the claims as “frivolous and unfounded.”
