Two suspects arrested by the police for robbing some victims at Teshie and its environs have each been jailed 25 years by a court in Accra.
[contextly_sidebar id=”cyqO0wfB3F10zxYgo8U9Dtq3xr6T8RRw”]The two were arrested last week following a reportage by Citi News on the frequent attacks on residents in Teshie and its environs by some suspected armed robbers.
The reportage compelled the top hierarchy of the Accra Regional Police Command to pay a working visit to the area.
Speaking to Citi News, the Public Relations Officer at the Accra Regional Police Command ASP Effia Tenge said the police were committed to ridding the society of criminals.
“The suspects in the Teshie robbery have each been convicted to 25 years imprisonment. This is good news for us because we have worked tirelessly to get these people arrested and they pleaded guilty and they pleaded guilty to the offence of conspiracy and robbery and they were sentenced on their own plea. So I believe this is a relief for the police,” she said.
She gave the assurance that the police will work hard to end crime in the community.
