[contextly_sidebar id=”oiXIaFkY8wIMRSctBs8CWGrywQYi35DJ”]Moves to get mining firms to list on the local bourse are yet to be realized due to some challenges from the market.

Chief Executive of the Chamber Suleiman Koney tells Citi Business News Goldfield has expressed interest to list on the Ghana Stock Exchange.

”A couple of weeks ago, Goldfields had intimated that they want to list on the Ghana Stock Exchange but it is a whole process and I am sure it will take a little bit of time and if it is done, and if it does happen, it would be good for you.”

Out of about 30 mining firms operating in the country, Only Golden Star Resources and AngloGold Ashanti are listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange.

Industry players are hopeful that the stock exchange will be more buoyant when more mining stock list on the bourse.
