The Peoples National Convention (PNC) 2012 Presidential candidate, Hassan Ayariga has denied ever being arrested by the Nima police for allegedly threatening the party’s treasurer, David Apasera.

Mr. Apasera officially lodged complaint with the Nima Police over allegation that Hassan Ayariga threatened his life through telephone text messages.

This according to media reports necessitated Hassan Ayariga’s arrest and his subsequent release on bail thereafter.

Hassan Ayariga in an interview with Citi News debunked the media reports and called for responsible journalism.

“I have never been arrested by the Nima police station nor by any police station so this allegation is false, this allegation is not true, this allegation is wrong and it is a wrong publication; I think that they should not be writing publications that are not true.”

Hassan Ayariga reaffirmed his resolve to seek legal redress on allegations aimed at tarnishing his image.
