The armed robbers managed to collect mobile phones, cash and other belongings of the commuters.

Passengers who had no phone or money on them were beaten by the robbers

Mr Osuman Musah, a team leader of Yendi Metro Mass Transit Inspection Unit, who briefed the media at Yendi after the incident indicated that the armed robbers suspected to be Fulanis attacked the bus with registration No. AS 9272z, driven by one Mr Abdulai Saddiq.

The robbers shot the windscreen of the bus and ordered all the passengers to get down and lie on their stomachs and after robbing them they fled into the bush.

Nicholas Waake, Tatale- Sangule District Chief Executive, who is the Chairman of the District Security Committee (DISEC) told the Ghana News Agency that this was the second time such an incident had happened at the same spot.

He said although DISEC through the advice of the police asked drivers not to travel before 5am it did not go town well

Mr Waake said the Zabzugu District Police Command will intensify patrol on the road.

He said it is unfortunate that the Tatale Police Station has no police vehicle for operations.
