The Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage & Transportation Company Limited (BOST) has denied leaking an audit report indicting the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (BDCs) for bribery and corruption.

[contextly_sidebar id=”P2FldXKJr047ECqTaGRdkYdMz0xx6q5s”]The BDCs Chief Executive, Senyo Horsi has accused Kwame Awuah-Darko of leaking an Ernst & Young (EY) report which suggests that some top officials at BOST supported some officials of the BDCs to rob the company of petroleum products at the depots, leading to significant petroleum product losses that affected the national strategic reserves.

Mr. Horsi further blamed Awuah-Darko of also leaking and circulating a tape on which he, Horsi, is heard confessing to bribery allegations leveled against him.

The BDCs boss at a press briefing denied all allegations and called on the President to set up a commission to investigate the matter.

Awuah-Darko in an interview with Citi News said his outfit never leaked that audit report.

“I did not! I did not!” he said, adding that “I have signed an oath of secrecy and I take my oaths very seriously.”

He explained that he has been privy to the information on that tape from 2013 when he was appointed the MD of BOST and since the issues on that tape were so sensitive, “I made it very clear last year in April when the BDCs wanted to operate the BOST facilities that they were not fit to do so because of some the comments I had heard on that tape.”

Awuah-Darko argued that if he “really, really wanted to leak that tape, it was last year that I should have leaked that tape because that would have made the Ghanaian public know there and then the reasons why I was so adamant.”

“So it’s not today that I am going to leak a tape,” he stressed.
