Gains being made against Malaria – WHO

The world is winning the fight against malaria as reports indicate that millions of lives, mostly of children under the age of five, have been saved in the past 10 years.

The World Health Organization reports that deaths from malaria have been cut by 47% worldwide and by even more than 54% in sub-Saharan Africa.

A potential vaccine is also being tested. However, the WHO says new developments threaten a decade’s worth of work.
