It appears the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is vigorously working to ensure the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Tamale South constituency Member of Parliament (MP), Haruna Iddrisu loses the next election.

[contextly_sidebar id=”AHNHiLrVQHPZwQ6ehvsXk322IgvGdb8Q”]The party earlier this year launched a campaign in the Tamale South constituency dubbed, “Operation drop Haruna Iddrisu in 2016.”

The NPP headship there has since embarked on series of campaign strategies to achieve that goal.

One of the party’s Parliamentary hopefuls, Yussif Yakubu after filing his nomination forms openly declared zero tolerance for what he described as Haruna Iddrisu’s rigging machinery during elections.

He refuted claims that the NDC’s thrice elected Legislator, Haruna Iddrisu who is branded as Tamale South Mugabe was untouchable.

Yussif Yakubu gave the assurance that Haruna Iddrisu would not retain his seat in 2017.

He asserted that the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations failed to honor his campaign promises since 2004.

A situation, according to Yussif Adam could cause Haruna Iddrisu’s shocking defeat in 2016.

The incumbent Tamale South Legislator, Haruna Iddrisu unseated the late Alhaji Mustapha Ali Iddris in 2004.

Haruna Iddrisu’s opponents largely attributed his victory to the Abudu and Andani conflict which dominated the 2004 campaign season.

On the NPP’s impending Parliamentary primaries, he called for clean campaigns.

As a former NPP Secretary for the Tamale South constituency, Yussif Yakubu emphasized that the NPP needed a united family to win the 2016 general elections.
