Nollywood star actor, Desmond Elliot, whose joy currently knows no bounds following his victory at the recently held House of Assembly election is telling anyone that cares to listen that he’s looking forward to a successful tenure as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

In a telephone chat with HVP, on Thursday, Desmond expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election, declaring that, “I feel I’m a representation of the youth, a generation that wants the change we are clamouring for.”
He said, he prays that God would give him the strength to withstand the pressure when it comes, “because I know it’s not going to be an easy task.
“ It’s something I’ve been begging Him (God) for a long time and now the opportunity has come. So, with God’s help and hard work, we will succeed.”
Continuing, Desmond said, “I look forward to a successful tenure, providing social amenities the best way I can for my constituency: representing them well in the house and making sure that Nollywood which is also my constituency thrives as far as Lagos State is concerned.
“I will still be making films, but not as an actor because I am representing people’s interest. I have to be very careful about what I do now,” he said.
Elliot contested for the Lagos State House Of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress(APC).
He is the only person in showbiz known to have successfully won any office contested for in Nigeria’s 2015 general elections.
