An Accra High Court presided over by His lordship Justice Mustapha Habib Logoh has fixed April 10, 2014 to rule on the missing 76 parcels of cocaine case of which Mr. Christian Sheriff Asem Darkey alias Linpinman was indicted.
This became necessary after Principal State Attorney, Mrs. Yvonne Atokora Obuobisa earlier filed an address on the case.
Counsel for the accused, Lawyer Issac Aidoo failed to file his client’s application in opposition at the last court sitting.
Facts of the prosecution’s case are that on April 26, 2006, a vessel, MV Benjamin reportedly carrying about 76 parcels of cocaine docked at Kpone/Tema and discharged the said quantity of drugs into a waiting vehicle.
The disappearance of the 76 parcels of cocaine necessitated the establishment of the Georgina Wood Committee to unravel the mystery.
Mr. Asem Darkey is standing trial for his alleged involvement in the disappearance of the said 76 missing parcels of cocaine on board the MV Benjamin vessel.
The accused was also charged for conspiracy, importation and exportation of narcotic drugs following his arrest on February 2, 2012 after going into hiding in 2006.
Mr. Asem Darkey was further indicted for allegedly paying 3,000 Dollars to a police Detective Sergeant to facilitate his escape.
The accused, Mr. Christian Sheriff Asem Darkey alias Linpinman was present in court.
