beccaIt will be an event to honour some selfless citizens selected from across the country as the  MTN Heroes of Change television series climaxes tomorrow, April 4 at the Accra International Conference Centre and music will be a key part of proceedings.

Ready to render music that reflects the theme of sacrifice and love for one’s community are Becca, Kwabena Kwabena, Steve Bedi, Koo Ntakara and the El Dunamis Choir.

Poet Chief Moomen will also be there with some relevant performance poetry to buttress the whole issue of good-hearted people providing unconditional services to their communities.

MTN Ghana initiated the Heroes of Change television series almost three months ago to identify and reward citizens committed to seeing real change in communities all over Ghana.

It is time now to pronounce which of the 20 participants in the series get to win prizes to enhance their already existing projects and all that will fly on the wings of some good sounds.

Music has, for many years, been a useful medium for campaigns of all sorts. It has been effectively used to support messages related to the environment, road safety, girl child education, better sanitation, spousal abuse and other worthy causes.

“We thought carefully about how to stage the Heroes of Change final event and it  was generally felt that music should encapsulate what the series had been about,” said Nii Martei Korley, production co-ordinator for the MTN Heroes of Change series.

“We strongly believe that the selected artistes would bring the needed lift to the evening and even ginger up other people to emulate the worthy examples of our 20 competitors.”

Kwami Sefa  Kayi of Peace FM, regular host of the MTN Heroes of Change series, will host the final event.
