A Legal Practitioner, Adusei Poku has described as “necessary,” the decision by the Police to give a one sided story on the YFM Presenter’s alleged assault and abduction from the suspects’ perspective.

The Police on Thursday held a press conference to update Ghanaians on the incident but some Ghanaians have expressed disappointed after they realised that most of the information was gathered from only the suspects.

There are concerns however that the decision by the Police to address the media without the side of  Ms Ada, could sway public anger against her and she will lose in the “court of public opinion.”

However speaking to Citi News, the lawyer Adusei Poku explained that it was necessary for the Police to update Ghanaians even if it was from only the suspects’ perspective to “assuage fears that there might be gangs in the systems.”

“They were just giving an update because it was a matter of national interest. Everyone was actually shocked that such a thing could happen in Ghana…We also need  to assuage the fears of Ghanaians that we have gangs in the system who can kidnap  someone and capture the person to indulge in heinous crimes”

He pointed out that an incident such as this can “endanger public safety” if not handled well by the Police.
