The rest of the day was dedicated to various sporting activities including sack race, fill the bottle, football, lime and spoon race and a host of others. New Horizon and Fidelity Staff won against parents and well-wishers in the tug-of-peace.
Commenting on Fidelity’s strong relations with New Horizon, Dr. William Derban, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Inclusive Banking at Fidelity said, “Fidelity has always been supportive of New Horizon. As a home-grown institution, we are proud and ever ready to support Ghanaians who are passionate about solving challenges they have identified in their respective communities. As an organization with a mandate to ensure socio-economic development, we reaffirm our commitment to improving the well-being of the less-privileged in society through focused, meaningful interventions such as this”.
On his part, the Chairman of the occasion and former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey, making a donation on behalf of himself and his wife, called on other well-meaning social entrepreneurs to establish institutions of higher education to absorb graduates of New Horizon Special School and further the vision of the Executive Director and Founder, Mrs. Salome Francois.
