gavelA labourer, Eric Nelson Asiamah Boateng  who defiled a 10-year-old girl at McCarthy Hills, has been sentenced to 12 years imprisonment by an Accra Circuit Court.

Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police,Sarah Acquah said some weeks ago Boateng, who resides at Kumasi, got employed as a labourer at McCarthy Hills.

On September 9, 2012, the victim’s mother sent her to call her senior brother by the roadside at McCarthy Hills.

On her way, ASP Acquah said, Boateng met the victim and lured her into an uncompleted building and defiled her.

ASP Acquah said when the victim got home she informed her mother about her ordeal, and led her mother to the roadside and pointed out Boateng as the culprit.

According to ASP Acquah, the complainant reported the matter to the police and a medical form was issued to the victim for medical examination and treatment.

The convict admitted the offence in his cautioned statement and pleaded forgiveness.
