Twenty four houses were torched in the Bunkprugu/Yunyoo district of the Northern Region, the Police have said.

[contextly_sidebar id=”THzBofsV1ZMYFkgy9IGyDkw5egl0ev2V”]This was as a result of renewed chieftaincy clashes between the Jamong and Jafog clans on Sunday April, 2015.

The Bunkprugu/Yunyoo Divisional Police Commander, ASP Felix Kumado in a Citi News interview maintained that relative calm had returned there.

According to him, security operatives on the ground were on a high alert and would not hesitate to deal with persons linked to the renewed clashes.

He urged residents there to remain calm and cooperate with the law enforcement agencies to smoke out suspects who sparked the renewed clashes.

Meanwhile, the Northern Regional Security Council met on Monday April, 13, 2015 to restrategize and reinforce personnel on the ground.
