Highlife legend, Daddy Lumba has explained his “okay” stage performance at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA), saying it was due to ill health.

Speaking on the Entertainment Review programme on Accra based Peace FM, the highlife legend said despite his health problems, he “decided to do the show because of the huge love I have for Ghanaians and also to show appreciation for the support Ghana has given me for the past 30 years.”
Daddy Lumba has been criticized for not putting up his usual spirited performance at the VGMA awards night.
Daddy Lumba won the Highlife artiste of the year and Highlife song of the year awards is said to have also delayed before appearing on stage while wearing an oversized costume and appeared frail.
