The head of the Korle Bu Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre, Dr Opoku Ware Ampomaa who confirmed the incident to Citi News said the victim died a few minutes after 7pm on Friday.

On Easter Monday, a gas tank in a gas station at Dansoman, near the Methodist University College exploded.

The explosion critically injured two persons.

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) subsequently closed down the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) refilling plant.

The decision was taken in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).

The closure according to the NPA is to allow them evacuate the residual gas in the storage tank.
