The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has announced that the Gospel Artiste of the Year at this year’s VGMA will drive home a Kantanka model vehicle manufactured by Kristo Asafo.

[contextly_sidebar id=”Hmm5NDeHwHaDIKmQ7HHAgVNWGRtFJy77″]This is the third year MUSIGA is collaborating with Midland Savings and Loans to present a car prize to a winner at the VGMA.

The event is arguably the biggest event on the Ghanaian entertainment calendar and it attracts the movers and shakers of Ghanaian society.

Two years ago, R2Bees won the car prize as Artiste of the year and last year, Joey B received the car prize as New Artiste of the year.

Midland Saving and Loans CEO Micheal Adjovu said Midland believes in supporting proudly made in Ghana goods hence the decision to go for Katanka cars.

Midland also believes its time to celebrate gospel music hence this decision after the first car prize award was given to Artiste of Year- R2Bees and last year it was given to new artiste of the year – Joey B so this year they have decided to give it to the Gospel Artiste of the year.

The Managing Director of Kantanka Cars, Kosa was happy that for the first time a group as prominent as musicians are endorsing an all Ghanaian product.

On his part MUSIGA, President Bice Obour Osei Kuffour indicated that the relationship between Midland and MUSIGA is proving increasingly beneficial to both parties and Musicians are happy for this partnership.

He therefore called on other corporate bodies to support the creative industries.

The 16th VGMA comes off on April 11 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The event is sponsored by Vodafone with support from Star Beer and a host of other supporters.
