Abeiku Santana on Wednesday confirmed to Citi News his intention to contest the Mfantseman West seat on the ticket of the NDC in the upcoming 2016 general elections.

Although Abeiku Santana will be facing stiff competition from two other contenders, Allotey Jacobs maintained that the new entrant can win the seat considering his status as a celebrity.

Allotey Jacob said: “It’s welcome news that we have such a celebrity like Abeiku Santana desirous of contesting for Mfantseman East. It can make a difference.”

According to him, the Regional Minister, Aquianas Tawiah Quansah has announced that he will no longer contest the seat in 2016 therefore, the area will soon be declared an orphan constituency.

“Abeiku Santana too has a chance to win that seat,” he stressed, adding that, “in politics, sometimes, it is important to look at the personalities that are contesting. Abeiku Santana is wholeheartedly welcome!”
