The children of the late overlord of Dagbon in the Northern Region, Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani II have poured out their frustrations at the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament (MPs) from the area, describing them as “sycophants.”

[contextly_sidebar id=”2Ar5P9JPOWLI4OXTru1XxZn5DkJ4OfFa”]According to the late Yaa-Naa’s aggrieved children, NDC legislators from the Dagbon Traditional area have abandoned the family after gaining political capital from their father’s death.

The children, widows and sympathizers of the late Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani II on Saturday, demonstrated in Tamale and renewed calls for the arrest and prosecution of persons linked to their father’s death.

They presented a petition to the Northern Regional Minister for onward submission to President John Dramani Mahama.

Son of the late Yaa- Naa Yakubu Andani II, Abdulai Yakubu Andani II in an exclusive interview lambasted the NDC MPs from the area over their silence on the family’s demand for justice.

“On campaign platform in 2004 and 2008, a political party made a lot of gains out of that,” he recalled.

“Most of these our MPs from Northern Region gained out of it and for them to say that they cannot talk about it means that if we are to talk on this issue and tell the whole world that this was what they used in campaigning for their seats then in means that most of them will lose their seats.”

Abdulai Yakubu Andani said the family would continue to mount pressure on government to apprehend and prosecute persons suspected to have caused the death of the late Dagbon overlord, Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani II.
