Five persons have so far declared their intention to contest the Tamale Central Constituency in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary primaries.

They include America based entrepreneur, Sumaila Iddris alias See, PHD holder Ibrahim Anyass Baba Repairer and a staff of VRA/NEDco, Abass Zakariah.

He however said some of them raised red flag on the filing fees pegged at GHC10,000,00 for orphan constituencies and GHC30,000,00 for constituencies where there are sitting Members of Parliament.

According to Musah Mutawakil, the complainants have called for a reduction of the filing fees to enable them nurse their Parliamentary ambitions.

One of the Parliamentary hopefuls, Ibrahim Anyass Baba Repairer explained why he is in the race.

“For me I have all that it takes to take the constituency back in the name of the NPP but yet prove to be a Member of Parliament for all the constituents who belong to Tamale Central and I think that is a credit that no one can take away from me in terms of my bid to become a Member of Parliament for the area.”

“In the first instance you were alluding to a name which looks almost like a thesis but there is a reason: in this case there is something in the name and that is the reason you have the name Ibrahim Anyass Baba Repairer, it points to the history of belongingness to a tradition and a tradition anyone cannot faulter,” Barhama stated.

Sumaila Iddris alias See boasted of winning the Tamale central seat currently occupied by the Minister for Roads, Hon. Inusah Fuseini.

“I have realized that the party really want power from NDC and I am gonna do everything to help the party wrestle power from the NDC and to play a good part in this I decided to come out and lead the party in the Tamale Central to get victory from NDC.”

“I am in my 30’s and we all know that the youth are the majority voters and I can attract a lot of people to join the party,” he remarked.
