The twist in the First Capital Plus continues to unravel with leaders AshantiGold being piped by BA United 1-0 in the biggest shock of the weekend. Coach Bashiru Hayford could only watch on as his side fell to another damaging defeat at the hands of BA united.
Champions Asante Kotoko continued their resurgence under David Duncan with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Liberty Professionals at the Baba Yaro Sports Stadium.
Ahmed Toure grabbing the all-important winner. New Edubiase United made giant steps to move away from the relegation zone with a resounding 2-0 thumping of Bechem United with Lamin Nasari and Nuhu Fuseini grabbing the goals.
Sekondi Hasaacas again proved too strong customers at home with a 3-1 win against WAFA goals came through Ibrahim Suleman, Daniel Agyri and Fredrick Quayson with Mumuni Zakari getting the consolation goal for WAFA. Hearts of Lions who finished second last season moved into the second place for the first time this season with a 1-0 home win against Medeama with Samuel Kyere getting the goal.
Veteran Ghana goalkeeper Richard Olele Kingson kept his second clean sheet in the first Capital Plus Premier league to give Great Olympics a much needed 1-0 victory over WA All Stars.
Doetse Agbashie with the only goal of the game. Aduana Stars added insult to injury to Berekum Chelsea’s trouble-laden season with a 2-1 win over the Berekum based club. Richard Arhin got the two goals and Samuel Kyere scored the consolation for Chelsea.
And finally, a howler from Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Tetteh Lugard gifted Inter Allies all three points. Goals from Ropapa Mensah for Hearts and Gockel Ahortor and Isaac Oduro getting the goals for Inter Allies that defeat brought an end to a seven game unbeaten run in all competition to the Phobians.
