A former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Mac Manu has cautioned all aspirants for the various positions in the party’s upcoming National Executive election to be circumspect in their utterances and civil.
According to him it is important the competitors behave in a way that will not leave the NPP damaged after the elections.
“I will urge competitors; both incumbent and those challenging to be introspect in the way they speak in public and behave in a way that will not leave the party ‘’bruised’’ after the elections.
He asked aspirants to be civil in their discourse and not to say sour things about their competitors.
‘’I will entreat all and sundry to be circumspect, civil in their discourse; this is an internal party democracy, so don’t go beyond it, stay simple, stay on course and the party and everybody will be the winner,’’ he cautioned.
Mr Manu said is only one person who can win the various positions available.
There is heated campaign as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gears-up for its up-coming national delegates’ congress in the Northern regional capital, Tamale.
The incumbent General Secretary of the Party, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie a.k.a ‘Sir John’ is said to have spewed slanderous attack on a competitor for the General Secretary position on a leaked tape recording.
But the former National Chairman said competitors should be mindful what they say about their fellow party members.
The National Executive elections come off on April 12, 2014.
