Nigeria’s presidential elections has gone into its second day after an extension on Saturday due to technical problems.

However, some card readers at some polling stations were facing technical challenges which delayed the voting process.

The incumbent President, Goodluck Jonathan had to be processed by hand before he could cast his vote in his home village.

It is reported that out of the about 150,000 polling units, about 300 of them were affected by this technical challenge.

Aside the technical challenges, there were also reports of attacks at some polling centers at north-eastern Gombe state leading to the loss of about 13 lives.

This landmark election is being keenly contested by Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari of the opposition party, All Progressives Congress (ACP).

Threats of Islamist militant group, Boko Haram forced the postponement of the election by six weeks.
