Highlife legends ‘rock’ MOGO Awards

The final leg of the 2015 Music of Ghanaian Origin (MOGO) Festival is currently underway at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) in Accra.

MOGO, which has been running for the past nine years celebrates authentic Ghanaian highlife music.

The Saturday night event, the MOGO Awards will honour highlife greats in the country.

Award categories:

MOGO highlife song, MOGO artiste, MOGO lifetime achievement, MOGO best song writer, MOGO best original gospel act, MOGO best performer, MOGO best choral group, MOGO best music producer, MOGO best vocalist and the MOGO best band awards.

Pat Thomas kicked started the event in style with some of his hit songs which got the crowd up and dancing.

Traditional literary poet, Nana Asaase paid glowing tribute to fallen highlife musicians in Ghana accompanied by soothing music.

The Ramblers are currently on stage dishing out great Highlife tunes.

Paapa Yankson of Okukuseku fame is rocking the house with his timeless songs. The audience are vigorously dancing and singing along.

Nana Kwame Ampadu made a grand entrance with his dancing moves which got the audience screaming out in shock. Certainly, he did not disappoint
