Founder of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams is calling on believers to pray for Nigeria as it goes to the polls on Saturday.

[contextly_sidebar id=”HxXw9UhnifLWDcgEdrPLnJuyTFjgNVp7″]Referencing to 1st  Timothy chapter 1 and 2 of the Bible, Duncan Williams said prayers and supplications should be made for all men “irrespective of their  religious background, we are to intercede for all men, for Kings, [presidents] for all those who are in authority, whether you like them or not it is mandatory by God if you are a believer.”

He said the importance of praying for the country is to “block the enemy from carrying out his agenda through them and allowing God’s agenda to be executed in them.”

Nigeria’s election which was scheduled for February 14 was postponed to March 28th due to the security reasons.

The Nigerian Electoral Commission, said the postponement will give a newly-formed multinational force, the opportunity to reclaim areas controlled by militant group, Boko Haram.

Nigeria has also closed its sea and land borders ahead of the elections.

The country’s Interior Ministry had explained that the closure of the borders is to prevent people from other countries from voting in the election.
