Airtel Money customers can now pay for their meals at all KFC branches using Airtel Money platform.

KFC, which has now been listed as one of Airtel Money merchants will enable Airtel Money customers conveniently and securely pay for their meals.

The head of Corporate Affairs at Airtel Ghana, Donald Gwira in an interview with citifmonline.com indicated that the partnership is geared towards promoting a cashless society.

“It is convenient in the sense that you don’t have to carry cash to do your purchases. From your Airtel Money platform, you will be able to transact, do the purchase and enjoy your chicken from the convenience of your phone,” he said.

Through this partnership, Airtel Ghana says it hopes to bring variety and convenience to its customers “because now KFC has become part of the over 500 merchants where you can go there to transact business.”

According to Mr. Gwira, Airtel Ghana chose to partner with KFC because “KFC came to Ghana about a year or two ago and so far they have shown a lot of enthusiasm and drive where now they have about six branches and still expanding.”

“People love KFC so with this partnership, we will be able to expand that ecosystem,” he added.

The company has positioned persons they call ‘table talkers’ in all KFC branches who will walk the customer through the process to be able to use their Airtel Money to buy food.

“As long as the promotion lasts, there is an extra piece of chicken for anybody who uses Airtel money and that is a very cool way of purchasing.”
