An Ambassador for the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, and acclaimed Ghanaian international music star Rocky Dawuni was at his best when he spoke and performed at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Social Good stage in Austin, TX.
Speaking at a panel discussion on how innovation and technology are advancing humanity Rocky talked about the critical role clean cookstoves and fuels are playing in saving lives and improving health around the world.
After the discussion, Rocky played an acoustic set of his world famous Afro roots sounds, including music off his soon-to-be-released album Branches of the Same Tree due out on March 31st.
About Rocky Dawuni
Rocky Dawuni is a Ghanian singer and songwriter who performs in the reggae genre. He currently lives in Los Angeles.
Dawuni got acquainted with reggae in Ghana when he heard a military band performing one of Bob Marley’s compositions in his boyhood town of Michel Camp.
He is accredited for creating the Independence Splash festival, which is held in Ghana yearly on the occasion of the Independence Day, March 6.
