The Greater Accra Region recorded over over 20,500 cases of cholera between June 2014 and February 2015.

Out of the figure, 121 deaths were recorded.

This, according to medical doctors was the single largest outbreak in the history of Ghana.

A resident Medical doctor at the Faculty of Public Health at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr Atsu Seake-Kwawu, who made this known said last year’s outbreak was three times that of recorded cases in 2013.

He made this known at a National Level Learning Alliance Platform for stakeholders in the Water, Health and Sanitation (WASH) sector.

The meeting was aimed at identifying the linkages between WASH and the survival of children in Ghana.
