The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has said the ongoing power rationing exercise will soon improve although it fell short of making any specific projections.

[contextly_sidebar id=”F5JgOSi372lw0RJYeAjCZscaViJCi57G”]The ECG’s Public Relations Manager, William Boateng is reported by the Daily Graphic as saying power supply will stabilize once power generation improves.

He indicated that some ongoing projects in the sector are expected to be completed by the close of March which will consequently add up to the national grid.

“We do not want to make any projections. However, immediately there is an improvement in the generation, which we are expecting very soon, consumers will begin to see the results in terms of relatively stable power supply,” he said.

Mr. Boateng disclosed that an average of between 400-500 megawatts of power is currently being shed and the 24-hour blackout and 12-hour light is in place.

But some consumers have been complaining of longer hours of blackouts and the failure of the ECG to strictly adhere to the load shedding time table schedule.

The Alliance for Young Entrepreneurs (AYE) has said they will sue the ECG by close of this week for failing to follow the timetable.
