Teiman, is a relatively new community in the Ga East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, with more than half of its residents relying on water from dugout wells and boreholes.

Although the community has a booming private water distribution business, there seems to be no regulatory authority supervising the safety of water distributed to clients.

A 2014 Ghana Demographic Health Survey indicates that, about 30% of urban dwellers depend on this source of water, but who ensures water from these private distributors is safe?
