The 2017 edition of the Citi Business Festival has been launched at the head office of MTN in Ridge, Accra.
The festival will include a series of on-air and outdoor events on different areas of the economy.
Some personalities at the launch included the Minister of Business Development Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Center, Yofi Grant, CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority, Mr. Akwesi Agyeman, and Investment Banker Iddrisu Mahama among others.
The first in the series of the business fora will focus on how to enhance financial inclusion in Ghana in partnership with the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems (GhIPSS).This will come off at 3:30 pm at the Holiday Inn Hotel.
Giving an overview of the month long event, the Director of News Programming at Citi FM, Mr. Bernard Avle explained that the second outdoor event will be held on the 6th of June with the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC).
“This event will focus on repositioning Ghana as the most attractive investment destination. It will come off at Alisa Hotel at 9am,” he said.
He pointed out that this year’s edition of the Sales Revolution will be held on the 15th and 16th of June at 8 am each day at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel, Accra.
“This two-day sales training programme is a paid for event at a cost of 450 cedis. The programme will provide adequate opportunities for sales persons and marketing executives on the dynamic trends and methods of sales and marketing. The event will assemble the best sales experts in the country who will make presentations on modern trends in the industry. The target is to boost the capacity of participants to positively impact their organizations,” he explained.
“Between the 18th and 24th of June, will be the Management Boot Camp at the Volta Hotel. Another paid for event, at a cost of 5,800 cedis. The weeklong residential executive education programme is targeted at senior managers and businessmen. The carefully selected faculty of facilitators with a blend of rich academic and practical expertise will take participants through a wide range of contemporary management and strategic issues,” he added.
For the lovers of tourism, Mrs. Lokko stated that the festival will have an Akwaaba forum which is slated on the 22nd of June at 9 am at Alisa Hotel is in partnership with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).
He announced that he forum will be on the theme unlocking Ghana’s tourism potential.
According to him, the highlight of the festival is the Innovation Summit which will feature a panel of industry players, discussing how to generate business successes through innovation.
This event is slated for the 24th of June at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
“The month long event will end with a round table discussion on the Real Estate sector event which will be held at 9am on 27th of June at Alisa Hotel. This forum will provide solutions on how Ghana can solve its housing deficit challenges,” he noted.
Meanwhile, starting next Monday till the end of June, there will be on-air management discussions on the Citi Breakfast Show from 9 am every Monday to Thursday.
This year’s discussion will center on Strategy, Leadership, Brand and Marketing.
