The Western Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Charles Onuawonto Cromwell Bissue, has admonished party supporters who did not see their favorite persons nominated for the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executive positions to remain calm and respect the president’s decision.
According to Mr. Bissue, a presidential staffer, supporters of persons who were not appointed should support those nominated to help the president to fix the economy instead of resorting to acts that will distract government business.

“Let’s all know that the persons who have been appointed now also have followers, so if the President comes to change them now, their supporters will also agitate similarly. That will divert the attention of the managers of the country.”
Mr. Bissue continued that “we have to respect the president’s decision. When we went to the December polls, over 4 million Ghanaians did not vote for us, but does that mean those 4 million who did not want NPP should be on the streets to demonstrate against us? I do not think that’s what we want. Just wait for your time.”
He called on youth groups in the Mpohor and Jomoro districts in the region who are agitating over the president’s decision to nominate some individuals, to remain calm as “there are other opportunities which need to be filled. When it’s your turn and you qualify, no one will prevent you.”
