The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, President John Mahama, has promised to construct a new market in Mankessim for the Mfantsiman Constituency if voted into power in December 2016.
Addressing party supporters at Mankessim on the third day of his Central Region tour, President Mahama hinted of plans to make this Mankessim market the envy of the sub-region.
He was full of praise for the current Mankesin market saying, “When we talk about vibrant markets in the southern part of the country, Mankessim market is one of them.”
“This market will be the Mahama Mankessim Market. I promise you that during my next term in office… the Mankessim market will be built. I won’t say it will be bigger than the newly built Kotokraba market but it will be the best in West Africa,” he added.
President Mahama also reiterated calls for a peaceful election and expressed optimism the NDC would emerge victorious out of the peaceful polls he hopes Ghanaians ensure.
“We have had six previous and all have been conducted peacefully and so this election will also be peaceful and I believe if we hold a peaceful election by the time they finish counting the ballot, the NDC party will be declared the winner,” he said.
