The immediate past Presiding Member for the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA), Romeo Akahoho, has donated a set of musical instrument to the Adjei Kojo E.P Church near Ashaiman.
According to Mr. Akahoho, who is the Assembly Member for the Adjei Kojo Electoral Area in the Tema West Constituency, the donation is in fulfilment of a promise made to the church a month ago.
The Assembly Member, who is a philanthropist, has over the years made some donations to various Civil Society groups in the constituency.
The Honorable Member has in the past organized free health screening for residents of his electoral area, and has also registered over 1,000 people unto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
Presenting the items, he urged the church to make good use of the items.
“I will charge the CYB to try as much as possible to compose a song with instruments presented since I believe they can do it due to their commitment to Godly works”
He used the occasion to advice the church members not to allow themselves to be used by any political parties to create chaoa in the upcoming elections.
The Ashaiman District Pastor of the E.P Church, Adjei Kojo, Rev Emmanuel Smart Konku, who received the items on behalf of the church, and the Christian Youth Builders (CYB), expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Assembly Member for the presentation.
“We are very happy to receive these items because it will go a long way to enhance the musical works of the CYB.”
He also pledged his commitment to ensure that their members are continually sensitized about the need to maintain law and order before, during and after the December elections.
