The Flagbearer of the All People’s Party’s (APC), Hassan Ayariga has selected Emmanuel Carl Bartels as his running mate for the 2016 general elections.
The 64-year-old Carl Bartels was elected at the Party’s Headquarters in Accra.
Mr. Emmanuel Carl Bartels is from Elmina in the Central Region. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ghana and Nigeria, with over 17 years of working experience.
Until his election on Friday, he was the First National Vice-Chairman of the All People’s Party, elected at the party’s maiden congress in Accra in June this year.
Mr. Carl Bartels in his acceptance speech said, he would complement the efforts of Hassan Ayariga to enhance their chances of winning the Presidential contest come December 7.
He said, “I saw what he [Ayariga] had and said this program and policy objectives looked good. This policy about all-inclusive governance and realized that it has the ingredient of biding the whole country and various ideologies together.”
‘Hassan Ayariga elected flagbearer’
Members of the All People’s Party (APC) on Monday June 13, acclaimed Hassan Ayariga as the party’s flagbearer for the 2016 general elections at a national delegates’ congress at the International Conference Centre in Accra. Mr. Ayariga was the only candidate to pick forms from the party’s office after it set GH¢100,000 as nomination fee for anyone within the party with presidential ambition.
‘Ayariga break away from PNC, forms APC’
All People’s Congress (APC) was formed by Mr. Hassan Ayariga, who contested the Presidential elections on the ticket of the People’s National Convention (PNC) in 2012. He broke away to form the APC after he lost his bid to lead the People’s National Convention (PNC)for the second time.
