The Sunyani District Director of Health Services, Mrs Eva Aryee says the rate at which HIV is spreading in the district requires immediate attention to bring the disease under control.
She said the prevalence stands at 2.24 percent, with 19 pregnant women out of 340 who attended antenatal clinics tested positive from January to June, this year.
[contextly_sidebar id=”b29p1oaLLzqNAPCqN3ly6eE1BO064fTF”]Mrs Aryee said malaria continues to top general Out-Patient cases in the district and advised all especially pregnant and nursing mothers to sleep under insecticide-treated nets.
She lauded the effective collaboration and tremendous support from MAP Ghana and Mission of Hope Society, NGOs, which has enhanced quality healthcare delivery in the district.
Mrs Aryee urged the health workers to exhibit high sense of professionalism, and to submit regular reports on their activities for proper planning and execution of programmes.
