Sixth Form students of Alpha Beta Christian College have embarked on a community service project as part of the Adinkrahene Leadership Program, a dedicated leadership track in their school.
14 young leaders from the Lower Sixth Form undertook various fundraising activities to provide resources and redecorate a school block in the town of Gyakiti in the Eastern Region.
This project was driven primarily by the students who planned, raised funds and implemented the project with the support of a few members of staff.
The redecoration project took a total of 3 days and a team of 20 to accomplish.
The project consisted of painting the internal and external walls of a 3 classroom KG/Nursery block, painting of furniture and playground equipment and decorating the classroom walls with teaching and learning materials.
The young leaders also presented the school with additional resources including classroom furniture, footballs, mats, slates, chalk and stationery.
The Gyakiti Presby School has been greatly transformed through the efforts of these young students.
The transformation was greatly appreciated by all the children and adults of the community.
Young leaders of the Adinkrahene Leadership Program are encouraged to be socially conscious and give back to society whenever they can.
