President John Dramani Mahama will begin his Accounting to the People tour of the Upper East region today [Monday].
The region is the eighth to be visited by the President since he began his tour in April 2016.
He is expected to use the opportunity to inspect developmental projects and engage Ghanaians on the projects in the regions.
The tour which was originally scheduled for Sunday was deferred to Monday for reasons yet to be made public.
Programme line-up
The President will be undertaking the following programmes during his tour.
11.30am: Sod-cutting for Bolga- Bawku Road at Tilli/Zebilla
12.30pm: Departure to Bawku Water Project site (Inspection of Project)
1.30pm: Departure Tamme Dam Site (Sod Cutting Ceremony)
3.00pm: Departure to Bawku
3.30pm: Courtesy Call on Bawku Naba
4.30pm: Departure to Bolgatanga
8.00pm: Evening Interaction with the Clergy
Mahama in Western Region
While in the Western Region, President Mahama commissioned a number of projects and also cut sod for the construction of new ones.
He also used the the opportunity to perform a ceremony to convert the Takoradi Polytechnic into a technical university.
Central Region tour
The President, during his tour of the Central Region, visited the University of Cape Coast where he touched on a number of issues including entrepreneurship, recruitment of staff for tertiary institutions among others.
Eastern Region
In the Eastern Region, President Mahama paid courtesy calls on chiefs, interacted with traders and residents of various communities and inspected on-going projects.
