The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), says it will embark on a nationwide strike on July 27.
[contextly_sidebar id=”eaaK3uTZl2icePv4S841yCExq7oylX3Q”] Addressing a press conference, the Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG, Dr. Isaac Bampoe Addo, said the strike has become necessary following government’s failure to pay them their market premium.
According to him, negotiations with government over the past few weeks, have not yielded any positive results, hence their decision.
CLOGSAG had issued a threat to strike earlier
CLOGSAG earlier threatened to embark on a strike over the non-payment of the market premium.
They revealed that government had paid interim premiums to other category of workers, but has failed to extend the payments to their members.
They also chastised a committee charged to work on market premiums, for recommending their exclusion from receiving the premiums.
