Soft spoken and affable, he is both multi-talented, and multi-tasked. Assistant revenue officer of CEPS, Daniel Adjei, has passion for singing, a trait evidenced in the gospel genre in particular, dating back to his boyhood days.
But as fate would have it, formal education took the better part of him, starting from the Kumasi Polytechnic where he secured a Higher National Diploma in purchasing and supply. He then proceeded to the University of Cape Coast for a bachelor’s degree in management studies.
Dan, would not end it there. A fortnight ago, he secured an LLB, from the prestigious Gimpa Law School.
With a law degree firmly tucked under his armpit, one would have thought Dan would fix his gaze solely on pushing on in the law profession, but no. though not abandoning a life ambition of becoming a professional lawyer in the foreseeable future, Dan is of the conviction both dreams could be pursued simultaneously.
Hear him, “ we must expand the frontier of the music industry as much as all other vocations, and help dispel the notion that it’s a preserve of a certain class of people. I am exercising that vocation, my current work as a revenue officer and pursuit of further academic laurels notwithstanding. I am here to help redefine the music industry. Music is an art form, it’s in me and I can’t just let go off it.”
A beaming Dan, sharing his experiences on his maiden single, MEMFATA, loosely translating as “I am not deserving of God’s favor”, said he is keen on releasing inspiring and game changing singles in the coming months.
He says the lyrics in MEMFATA reflect his faith in God, which faith has sustained his life, and the lives of billions.
He says his music work does not interfere with his formal duties as a revenue officer at the CEPS head office, and was confident same would not impede his academic pursuits.
When he was reminded that the Police Service has Supt. Kofi Sarpong, a popular gospel artiste to beat, he smiled gently and commended the pioneering Gospel singing officer, saying “perhaps it’s about time a lot more of us came out to exhibit natural talents embedded in us.”
