Two suspected robbers who escaped from police cells in Tumu, capital of the Sissala East district in the Upper West region have been re-arrested at Leo in Burkina Faso.
The two, Faisal Mohammed and Abdullai Alhassan escaped in the early hours of Monday June 6 2016 compelling the police to immediately mount a search leading to the arrest on June 10.
The Sissala East district police commander, ASP Ayensu Williams confirmed the arrest to Citi news. He said “we have arrested them. They are now put in the inner cells under tight security”.
He disclosed that the suspects were arrested upon a tip off.
The commander thanked the police at Leo for their support and co-operation leading to the arrest.
He said the two are being processed for court.
