The Branch Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for Bawdie in the Wassa Amenfi East Constituency of the Western Region, has reportedly committed suicide.
Sixty-year-old Albert Agyei, is believed to have shot himself last night due to excruciating pains from an accident he had some years ago.

The Police Commander noted that the late Agyei “some years back, had an accident on two occasions. The accident led to a surgical operation on his right hand and a support metal was put in there. That operation led to some chronic pain he had been suffering from. So he often visits the hospital for review.”
Superintendent Twumasi said the late NDC chairman suffered the pain about a week ago after which he went to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.
“He was supposed to go for another review yesterday [Wednesday] and they had even packed all his items for the journey. So he informed his wife to prepare him some food so she had left for the kitchen. So before she could come back to the bedroom, he had shot himself there.”
Although there was no suicide note left by the deceased, the Police Superintendent blamed it on the chronic pain the late Chairman was suffering from, adding that “in fact he was actually traumatized and he thought there is no way out for him to have come back to his normal state so he just decided to end everything.”
