Activities in the Nigerian aviation industry have returned close to normal after coming close to a halt over the weekend following a shortage in aviation fuel.

Most airlines in Nigeria cancelled in some cases rescheduled flights over the weekend due to the development.

This left thousands of air travelers stranded across airports in Nigeria.

Some of the airlines which cancelled flights include Arik Air and Aero Contractors.

Meanwhile some radio stations, and telecom companies were also forced to halt operations over the aviation fuel crisis.

Telecommunications giant, MTN on Saturday sent out a notice stating that they have low diesel supply and if they don’t receive diesel within the next 24 hours, the network will be seriously degraded and customers will feel the impact.
