The Ministry of Trade and Industry in collaboration with the Ghana Community Network Services Limited (GCNET), has launched a trade facilitation Awards scheme.
The move is aimed at promoting and enhancing global trade expedition as well as encourage public workers to render efficient services in their field of work.
[contextly_sidebar id=”x19Wj8FlpQDQbhzEe5SgRkxqBhSQYxFB”]The Awards Scheme which is set to commence on the 16th of April 2016, seeks to award the Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) as well as freight forwarders.
Chief Director of the Trade Ministry, Dawarnoba Baeka, said the move will enhance work input and development in the country.
‘‘It is my hope that by instituting these awards, MDA’s, Freight Forwarders as well as participants in the different sectors in this industry will be enquired to improve upon their procedures and performance to be in line with international best practices for expeditious processing of transactions and clearance of goods in order to lower the cost of doing business in Ghana’’.
