President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. Abdul-Nashiru Issahaku as Governor of the Central Bank.
He replaces Dr. Kofi Wampah who has proceeded on leave prior to retirement.
Dr. Issahaku, until this appointment, effective today April 04, 2016, was a deputy Governor of the Bank.
[contextly_sidebar id=”cp5IldonwkgLlzbl1xRZJ3REJIEtKNG9″]Until his appointment, Dr. Issahaku was a Second Deputy Governor, and served on many committees including the Economy and Research Committee, Strategic Planning and Budget Committee, and the Monetary Policy Committee, of Bank of Ghana
Prior to joining the BoG, he acted as the Chief Executive Officer of Export Development and Agricultural Investment Fund (EDAIF).
Dr. Issahaku has also worked with the African Development Bank and the World Bank. Dr. Issahaku holds Masters in Agric Economics and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Georgia.
