The North Tongu Constituency Executives of the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC), have disassociated themselves from allegations made by the constituency organizer against the DCE of the area.
The constituency organizer, Dominic Adoboe, who led some youth groups at a press conference called for the removal of the DCE, Fafa Agbayi.
He accused the DCE of non-performance and said she was disrespectful towards traditional leaders and party executives.
[contextly_sidebar id=”Wb9Zwbqvt4bjohkCCfMR6pei5XuXllLo”]But at a counter press conference held in Bator, the Constituency Chairman, Moses Amedor, discounted the claims insisting they are on good terms with the DCE, and that she has actively been participating in the party’s activities.
“I can recall vividly that a particular DCE in the former North Tongu attended party meetings only once and if our current DCE attends meetings sometimes, then she must be praised than condemned. In percentage terms, we can give her 70% out of 100%” he explained.
He said the executives were not represented at the said press conference organised by Dominic Adoboe, and that he spoke in his personal capacity and not for or on behalf of the NDC in the North Tongu Constituency.
He also warned Dominic Adoboe not to drag the chiefs into partisan issues by “serving”as their spokesman.
“I wish to officially use this platform to say that we should not drag our respected chiefs into our party politics. Our chiefs are there to work with everyone irrespective of one’s party affiliation” he admonished.
At the press conference attended by the Constituency Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Deputy Secretary, Deputy women’s Organiser and other core executives, the Chairman asked party members to remain committed to the party and ignore all distractions.
