The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Volta region wants the Minster of Roads and Highways, Inusah Fuseini sacked for misinforming President, John Mahama about the state of the roads in Hohoe in the region.
Presenting the State of the Nation Address, last week the President announced that works on the Hohoe town roads were progressing steadily.

However, Mr Fuseini disputed Citi News’ report but was met by angry residents when he visited the area on Wednesday.
They accused him of not presenting the facts on the ground to the President.
Commenting on the issue in a Citi News interview, the chairman of the NPP in the Volta region, John Peter Amewu insisted that Inusah Fuseini cannot continue to remain in office for churning out such untruth.
The NPP Volta Regional Chairman further said “if I were the president I would have fired the Minister of Roads and Highways immediately.”
He continued; “He will be the first person to go followed by all those technical people who provided that information. They need to fire the minister. The Minister was on air challenging despite not ascertaining the real truth on the grounds before going on air and I’m very happy that he drove to Hohoe and he saw it himself,” he added.
“It’s a simple lesson to all politicians that it’s important we do just as the people want. We are politicians because we want to serve this nation. Where you want to be a politician and rely basically on propaganda, deceit, corruption, it will not help this country. I’m very happy that the inhabitants themselves of that community have come out clearly to demonstrate that what the president said was a total lie,” he said.
