A former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region, Captain Nkrabea Effah Dartey, has described as embarrassing the procedure adopted by his party in importing three retired South viagra African Police officers into the country.
“The NPP has brought some people to do some training and all the happenings after has become an embarrassment. What that means is that, it is unfortunate that this incident has taken place,” he added.

Effah Dartey in an interview with Citi News said the NPP could have adopted a better strategy if they indeed needed the services of the foreigners.
“…This idea of training our people to guard our leader is supposed to be on the quiet, it’s not supposed to be in the public domain. The whole thing is almost an embarrassment to all of us including the nation.”
He also stated that the issue is likely to mar the cordial relationship between Ghana and South Africa.
“It is going to affect Ghana and South African relations. The fact that three South Africans were arraigned is in itself an embarrassment to the nation and I’m sure the South African High Commission was not happy about the incident,” he expressed.
NPP’s credibility remains intact
But NPP MP for Abuakwa South and one of the lawyers for the ex-South African Police officers, Atta Kyea, believes the drama surrounding the three has not brought any embarrassment to the party.
He argued that the party’s credibility remains intact.
Speaking to Citi News, Samuel Atta Kyea said deporting the South African security trainers suggests is actually a vindication for the party.
“How will it affect our credibility? It’s going to underline clearly that the NDC doesn’t have anything serious against us after saying we were trying to undermine the authority of the government and the national security. The people who brought this whole farce against us have retreated so we’ve been vindicated that there was nothing untoward happening.”
Atta Kyea however said it is the government that will suffer the consequences of what they did.
“A lot of damage has been done to the government and not the party. If you understand what is going on, it means they didn’t have faith and confidence in what they were doing; they were only trying to do propaganda with the issue,” the MP insisted.
